Our newest addition
This afternoon we got a chick! It was abandoned near my co-worker's house and as she was telling me the sad and amazing story- the chick lived through the nigh with foxes and coyotes around, I told her we would take it. Maybe this will be a temporary pet, but for now it is great. We are hoping it is not a rooster- we aren't supposed to have livestock in the downtown area. Paris has named it snowball. It follows the kids around and is very nice!
We also have a family of quails living in our backyard- isn't he beautiful? It is so cute when they run around with their babies...

what a sweet little chick.
PS. it reminds me of when we were younger and had chickens and ducks. It also reminds me of when we would bring home animals all the time.
Hopefully you won't hear an early morning cockadoodledoo in your future. That would be fun to have your own eggs.
That's crazy, I want a chick, although like all animals once it gets big it probably won't be cute. but good job saving it.
Aww. It's so cute! And quails are the strangest little things, aren't they?
How is Poppet adjusting?
p.s. I love chicks and chickens!
Poppet wants to eat the little thing, but it is so chill. Unless Poppet is touching it, it could care less! We have tried to help them become friends, but Poppet can't seem to get over the idea of it being dessert... So far so good. One at a time loose in the yard is how we are working it.
Oh! I'm so glad I finally found your blog again. I've been thinking about you. I love your blog. Kisses to all! -Bessie
